Born and raised amid the snow-capped peaks of Switzerland, CH-Trailer Rentals’ founder embodies the blend of precision and passion that Alpine life demands. He speaks fondue-level fluency in German and honed his knack for engineering watching Swiss trains glide through mountain tunnels. In 2003 he swapped Swiss skies for American horizons—sure that if a Swiss man could navigate a family-size clockwork cheese slicer, he could certainly navigate the wide open road with nothing more than a duffel bag and a dream.
Engineering and Diesel Dreams
Before CH-Trailer Rentals was even a thought, the founder’s career was already revving at full throttle. He founded McSchwarz Diesel Engineering, channeling Swiss precision into designing and building high-performance diesel injectors for the mighty 6.6L Duramax engine. Just like crafting a fine Swiss watch, every injector was made to run smoothly and reliably under pressure. He also supplied race teams with standalone diesel ECUs, effectively turning everyday trucks into turbocharged beasts. And really, who needs a sports car when you can blast down the highway in a rig that roars?
Lightning on Wheels – The Mormon Missile Saga
Some people ski or yodel in their free time; this founder helped land-speed cars break records. He joined the infamous “Mormon Missile” land speed racing crew (yes, it’s a racecar, not a religious pun), serving as assistant crew chief responsible for race setup and backup runs in impound. When their Duramax engine melted into what looked like a fondue pot gone wrong, the team called in their Swiss-born secret weapon. In a whirlwind 48 hours he turned molten junk back into horsepower, helping achieve a 341 mph (555 km/h) world record. You can bet that intense adrenaline rush was a far cry from his quiet nights in a Swiss chalet.
During those high-speed adventures, he also racked up a serious unofficial trailer-driving badge. Hauling race cars and workshops from Wisconsin to Calgary (and everywhere in between, especially the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats), he learned that behind every speed demon is a trusty trailer. Whether towing a sleek funny car or a diesel drag truck on a flatbed (seen here lumbering toward its next pit stop), he’s seen and done it all. He even jokes he’s changed more trailer wheels than Swiss Army knife blades — now that’s overlanding, Swiss style!

Even Swiss pilots have to refuel, and after years of grassroots racing and tinkering, our founder gave corporate life a spin. In Chicago, Illinois, he joined Continental as a mechanical and systems engineer for Transmission Systems and eBikes, and didn’t leave until he’d mastered juggling engineering, management, and languages (English, German, and a dash of Mandarin) all at once. He then took the show on the road to Shanghai and Nantong, China as a technical project manager and liaison. Eventually he revved up new challenges overseeing projects for 4×4 Actuators and EV cooling pumps (imagine a Tesla on steroids). Over the years he navigated everything from smart bikes to electric vehicles, his resume reading like a wish-list of cutting-edge engineering — and he tackled each one like a champ (well, maybe in a pinstripe racing suit).

After 14 years in the corporate lane, his company was acquired and his project-manager job fell off like a leaky muffler.
